Neighborhood Councils are City-certified local groups made up of elected Board Members who live, work, own property or have some other connection to a neighborhood. Board Member elections for seats on a Neighborhood Council are held every two years. Neighborhood Councils hold regular meetings and have working committees that address community issues.
The Hollywood United Neighborhood Council area stretches from Cahuenga to Western, and from Hollywood Boulevard to the Hollywood sign. Since 2003, this group of elected volunteers has worked to understand the needs, address the concerns and improve the lives of those who reside and work in our community.
Issues of significant concern these days include:
- Crime
- Oversized Development
- Worsening Traffic
- The Negative Impacts of Tourism
- Homelessness
